Power Quality Engineer/Consultant (remote position)

Sonel Test & Meaurement/PowerCET ( www.powercet.com) is currently looking for an engineer trained in electrical systems to support our clients in solving power problems, performing energy studies and supporting our product sales and rental business. The role involves a variety of power engineering and consulting projects. The ideal candidate is a problem solver capable of working through technical challenges and employing pragmatic solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Drives an overall project & customer value approach to equipment selection with project team.
  • Works with estimating to ensure accurate power distribution equipment price information is considered in developing bids for customers.
  • Drives supply chain approach, promoting innovation, standardization, product quality and efficient lead-times.
  • Encourages and seeks co-development and early supplier involvement; brings supplier market knowledge and education to team(s).
  • Helps the project team assess possible functionality of the power distribution equipment.
  • Works with Engineering to develop standardized packages for design build and supports value engineering efforts.
  • Collaborates with cross functional departments, including estimating, engineering, purchasing and operations.
  • Provides customer-focused innovation via engineering and suppliers.
  • Demonstrates the capability of handling multiple and conflicting priorities and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to navigate through customer plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrates approachability and ability to collaborate with others and effectively influence.
  • Will provide efficient and accurate pre-sale technical support by evaluating customer needs and recommending solutions
  • Will:
  • Analyze customer power systems and load requirements, interpreting customer specifications, drawings and schematics to select appropriate units for customer applications and build Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Provide quotations per customer requirements according to channel pricing structures.
  • Manage and administer pricing programs such as deal registrations and special discounts.
  • Communicate sales leads to field sales organization and product line.
  • Will be single point of customer contact, owning and helping to resolve post-shipment issues as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships through excellent customer service skills
  • Be available and manage daily phone, email and chat activity to provide solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines and making recommendations for product enhancements and future offerings.
  • Communicate regularly with the field sales organization to share and influence business intelligence.
  • Travel to customer or company events and locations to represent organization, train on products and processes and participate in sales events.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in sales, customer support, marketing or engineering.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United State without company sponsorship.
Position Criteria:
  • Ability to demonstrate familiarity with single and three-phase power generation and distribution.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Electrical Standards (NEC, UL, NEMA, IEC, CE, CSA, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings (electrical and mechanical).
