PowerCet, based in Santa Clara, California is known internationally for providing consulting services to industrial, commercial, and governmental organizations. We are the “ghost-busters” of identifying and solving power problems that disrupt the reliable operation of electrical infrastructures in data centers, manufacturing plants, hospitals, military bases, and power generation plants on land and on sea. In addition to power quality, we routinely perform load studies and energy audits, generator and UPS commissioning, investigating RF interference, and making electrical grounding studies.The other half of our business is in the sales, rental, support and training on power monitoring and electrical instruments from major manufacturers.

Education and Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Electrical technician, or master electrician qualification
Electrical Contractor’s license
(Applicants will be considered who are studying for licensing.)
We will consider candidates who have at least 5 years of experience, to senior level engineers who possess 10 plus years of related engineering experience.
Engineering positions often require that experienced engineers maintain current approved FE Certification and may be required to be a Registered Professional Engineer.
Must have comprehensive electrical power systems knowledge, both utility and non-utility, and be conversant with power distribution infrastructure and devices. Including but not limited to: transformers, generators, uninterruptible power systems, power conditioning, power factor correction, harmonics filters, grounding, wiring practices, lightning protection, insulation, arc-flash safety, and EMF interference.
Have a clear working knowledge of ANSI, NEC, NFPA and other related recognized standards bodies dealing with power quality, electrical codes, and safety.
Coordinate installation of temporary power monitoring and recording equipment.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical one-line diagrams.
Experience with power testing instruments and power quality meters, their installation, programming and data analysis.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Successful candidate requires knowledge of basic electric engineering principles and advanced mathematics. Gather data and make accurate engineering computations.
Must be proficient in computer skills with a working knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.
Requires knowledge of business environments and understanding of common business procedures.
Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate people skills in working with non-technical individuals.
Must be able to work independently with strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
Must be able to lift, carry test equipment, climb ladders, and perform duties in PPE.
Perform technical electrical engineering work of complex nature.
Travel and overtime will be required.
Pay based on experience (anticipate $85K - $110K). Benefits are included (Medical/Dental/401k) EEO
